The xD Picture card is specifically designed for the digital photography market and is used mostly in cameras from Olympus and Fujifilm.
Size is just 25 (w) x 20 (h) x 1.78 (d) mm and it weighs only 2.8 g. xD is available is different models:

- Standard xD - Read speed of 5 MB/sec., Write speed of 3 MB/sec.
- Type H xD - Offers better Read and Write speeds.
- Type M xD - Offers better compression compared with standard xD
- Type M+ xD - Offers even better Read and Write speeds (approx 1,5x compared with Type M)  

It is important that you select the model that is suitable for your camera. Please check the specifications for your camera.
Olympus xD cards is the only cards that can use the panorama function in Olympus cameras.
